questions on Pidgin development

Are Pidgin developers going to develop VoIP, Skype, video/internet phone, and video conferencing support?  I would like to be able to connect to VoIP lines via Pidgin, especially Skype.  Pidgin needs to be the one and ultime universal non-email and non-web internet communications client.
