Comment:

 duplicate of #2349.

  If you disable autologin (run `pidgin.exe -n`), you should be able to
  disable the log reader plugin and prevent the crashing.  (alternatively,
  you can just delete `...\Pidgin\plugins\log_reader.dll`)
