 ran into this error on ubuntu linux. i installed pidgin on 7/24 when all
 of a sudden gaim stopped working, and pidgin worked ok at first despite
 this error. today, all i get is the error and the app never comes up, but
 a process list shows the process and i have to kill it to get rid of it.

 anyone seen this error and more importantly how to resolve it?
