Comment:

 I've seen this before.  It is crashing in vlsp.dll which
 according to google is something for "Venturi Wireless" and
 causes all sorts of problems all over the place.

 Search for vlsp.dll on google for lots of people having
 problems.

 At any rate, this is not a bug in pidgin, but in the that dll.
