 Linux, built from source.

 I have logins to 2 different GWIM Systems.
 One system supports port 443 the other supports 8300.
 I can connect just fine to the GWIM system using port 443.
 The system using port 8300 doesn't allow Pidgin to connect. The error
 returned is "Unable to make SSL connection to server."

 I have a LAN trace from WireShark.
 10.5.8.57 is the GWIM server.
