 I'd like to add a 'me too' to this.  Specifically there are fundamental
 flaws with the PlainTextPasswords page:

 In many corporate situations a single username/password is used for all
 access, e.g. email, session, IM, etc.  Under these circumstances it
 becomes important to protect that single password.
