 This is a duplicate of #197 which is identical to a dbus threading issue.
 You're not using dbus or gstreamer, though, the only things we include
 that uses threads. Perhaps there's a problem with the file dialog itself.

 Can you confirm that you have GNOME installed? I suspect that's the case
 with Ubuntu.
