 I see this as a cop-out for poor development and a failure to meet the
 requests of your userbase.  I can't do anything more appropriate than
 complain since I'm unwilling to fork, so that's what I'll do.

 I'd encourage you to add an "Advanced Preferences" tab/option for features
 such as this.  This would allow you to meet the needs of your every-day
 stupid userbase as well as the highly educated userbase.  Otherwise, you
 risk offending one or the other.

 I'm pleased to see some ongoing development of this very important piece
 of software, which had gone dormant for a rather long period of time.  I
 am aware of the legal issues with AOL and the name change.
