 When I move a buddy from one group to another, I get the error:

 Unable to add:
 Could not add the buddy ******** for an unknown reason.
 The most common reason for this is that you have the maximum
 number of allowed buddies in your buddy list.


 where ******** represents the name of the buddy.  The buddy does in fact
 move from one group to the other.
