Comment (by deryni):
1) I don't believe your counts just because you say them.
2) Not a single person has said anything even remotely resembling "screw
you guys, it's better for this other guy who complained" so you can stop
acting all indignant about that.
You should tell your friends to upgrade or not based on whatever criterion
you want. The fact that you and your friends don't like this particular
blue color is a fine reason not to upgrade to 2.3.0 for the time being.
The color change is not a bug, it is a difference. It is a change that a
number of people have not liked, mostly because the current blue color is
awful (we've agreed with that in a number of places for the record). Most
people don't actually care about the red vs. blue aspect here nearly as
much as they care about the fact that they think the blue is too close to
black (if they care about red vs. blue at all which most don't). The only
'flaw' we didn't notice was that concepts of what a good color is is
almost an entirely a subjective assesment and that we really just need to
make these configurable. Which, as you'll notice, I have called for
patches implementing now many many times (twice in this ticket). So
please, stop getting your panties in a bunch over a minor change that has
little impact on most people, has made a number of people happy, has made
a number of people go "uh", and has made a number of people unhappy when
we have already indicated that we realize the change is not done and are
calling for help to fix it correctly.
And if you have in fact prevented half a dozen people from submitting
duplicates of this ticket then thank you, thank you very much. I don't
want it to look like we don't appreciate your help, we do, especially in
combating duplicates.
