 Did I say Monday?

 I did the following with a 2.2.2devel of last Sunday:[[BR]]
 * Delete all Buddy icons in .purple[[BR]]
 * start Pidgin[[BR]]
 * The Buddy icons did show up almost instantly when a buddy came online

 To cut a long story short: This ticket can be closed :)


 I wasn't yet able to test whether this also fixes #2528
