Comment (by datallah):

 The connection was dropped and it is trying to send a "disconnect" message
 to the server, but since it is already disconnected (which triggers a
 SIGPIPE when writing to a disconnected fd).  This can be ignored
 automatically in gdb by following the instructions on the
 [wiki:GetABacktrace] page (`handle SIGPIPE nostop`).
