 I am seeing similar behavior the last couple days. with the same debug log
 messages, except typically the tab close operation has been fast and I
 have been unable to crash the program.

 It is however using 60 MBs of memory, seems like there is some kind of
 memory leaking going on, are there any windows utilities to latch onto a
 process and watch for memory leaks?  I attempted to download IBM purify
 product trial version, but I have to be approved for export...even though
 im in the US...

 Another thing I saw once was that memory usage for pidgin was at 80 MBs
 then sometime later (half an hour) I checked again and it was down to 20
 or 30, seemingly without any obvious actions by me.
