 Using '''Pidgin 2.2.1''' on '''Centos5 Linux''':

 Hovering the mouse over the status bar styles the status text white.  This
 is very difficult to read, unlike when hovering over items ''in'' the
 list, where they have a contrasting background.

 I imagine this is essentially just a stylesheet change.  When hovering the
 collapsed status list, either a darker font color or a contrasting
 background color should be used.
