 Xinef: The protocols themselves are protocol dependent, but they all must
 adhere to a standard interface. Any voice/video implementation would need
 to do the same.

 All: I must reiterate that this is not the appropriate place to argue
 about if or why pidgin should have voice/video support. The very existence
 of this ticket, created *by* a pidgin developer, indicates that the
 developers are not opposed to it. However, developers are not obligated in
 any way to implement something in their time that they don't have an
 interest in implementing. Repeated "me too" requests or trying to convince
 developers of the importance of it is not going to make it happen. If
 someone steps up and makes it happen, that's great. But it won't be
 because X number of people insisted on it, its going to be because someone
 who has the time and interest will put the effort into it.
