 I've been using Pidgin with Vista Home Premium since late June with no
 problems. Since the 2.2.1 update, however, the client has a tendency to
 crash in 2 ways:

 1 - Vista reports that "Pidgin has stopped working" and the client exits
 2 - When the client is started for the first time, CPU usage climbs to 50%
 and RAM usage skyrockets into the 100+MB range

 My Pidgin has 2 AIM accounts, one Windows Live account, a Google Talk
 account, and a MySpace IM account active. A Yahoo account is also on, but
 it's not enabled.

 I suspect it may be the MySpace IM component that is causing the trouble.
