 Let me preface with the fact that I do not have any additional language
 packs installed (on the OS or Pidgin)-- just the default English (US). I
 am running Pidgin 2.2.1 on Windows XP SP2, with an x86 processor.

 I have a few buddies who use foreign language characters in their
 nicknames (and also a friend who has an accented e in his name) and they
 break the sorting on my buddy list (which is set to Alphabetically). All
 the names with special characters appear at the bottom of my list, even
 though none of them start with the special characters (they simply contain
 them).

 I can provide a screenshot if necessary.

 Obviously the work around is to provide an alias for the users, but I
 figured I'd report the bug anyway.
