 Hi,

 i'm also using a http proxy, but without authentification (as this is a
 proxy accessed throw a vpn).
 Everything thing worked fine with pidgin when suddenly, after a machine
 restart, pidgin started crashing (=Segfaul) on logon.

 It turned out that at this happens if my pidgin either connects to my msn
 or my yahoo account.
 Regarding msn, I've already found a fix (adding a http_method_server as
 proposed if I add a new msn account, already posted here).

 Couriously, pidgin crashes when connection to yahoo with the very same
 configuration as used by an other local login.
