 Slion: What kind of firewall are you behind?  If you open the debug window
 (Help->Debug Window) while trying to connect, does it give you a more
 descriptive error message near the bottom of the output?

 FYI I changed the default login server for oscar to
 login.messaging.aol.com.  Thanks for suggesting that, breaux
