Comment:

 Unfortunately this behaviour is entirely unrelated to pidgin and is
 entirely a KDE one, so the documentation problem is really one for KDE.
 And more appropriately from my perspective KDE should really notify you
 the first time this happens and explain what it is doing (or just not do
 it at all since I think it is mostly broken, though KDE's implementation
 is generally less broken than Gnome's).
