 I am running FC5.  I updated to Pidgin 2.1.1 using yum.  Now Pidgin does
 not start properly.  Upon startup, there is some activity (as determined
 by `top`) but then pidgin crashes.


 I performed a backtrace with gdb as specified in TipsForBugReports.  There
 were many lines of:

 `(no debugging symbols found)`

 and then, at the end:

 `/usr/bin/pidgin: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/pidgin: undefined symbol:
 purple_core_ensure_single_instance`


 Any help is appreciated.
