 This bug *appears* to be resolved. I tested with version 2.0.2. The number
 of retries is capped at 3 by the SIMPLE protocol code. Once this limit is
 reached, SIMPLE reports authentication failure and gives up. The number of
 retry attempts is hard coded into simple.h/c.


 If this problem persists, I will need additional information to reproduce
 the error.
