#3082: Windows socket error #10060 in AIM Protocol
---------------------------------------------+------------------------------
Reporter: Russell Nails | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: minor
Component: pidgin (gtk) | Version: 2.1.1
Keywords: Windows socket error 10060 AIM | Pending: 0

Like many people, I've been experiencing this issue, and I'm sad to say
that it's still occurring in version 2.1.1 I can tell you honestly that
it is in no way caused by my anti-virus, a firewall, or the dog sitting in
 the room.
You seem to keep ignoring the issue, blaming things like those mentioned
above, barring the presence of a pet. I know for a fact that It works
some times, and not others, on what appears to be a whim. This specific
problem is not security software caused either.
I've also tried a previously mentioned "fix" that claims simply changing
"login.oscar.aol.com" to "login.messaging.aol.com" will work, but it does
 not.
The only other ticket I've found that has anything to do with this is
#2485, but it's been abandoned for a month now. Thank you for taking the
time to read this, and I hope you don't just tell me to check my firewall
and security software. This problem is not caused by their presence or
 absence.
 Thank you.
