Comment:

 I don't see the benefit of 2, it also seems like it'd seem odd if that is
 how it behaved.

 4 is a much larger issue and is covered by #926 and #1630.

 In 5, if "whitespace" means the whitespace at the bottom of the blist,
 that isn't unreasonable, but the last time I looked, it was more effort
 that it was worth and would involve some ugly hacks because the whitespace
 isn't part of the tree widget.
