 Thanks for responding!

 Hmm...so none of (1), (2), or (3) will ever work then?
 (3) might have been ok, but the maximum time for the notification
 to be displayed is 60seconds...after which it disappears.

 Is there some other way to have this capability?
 Either in the core app, or through a plugin?
 ie: If only through a plugin, I just want to make sure that
     it definitely is doable as opposed to writing the plugin
     only to find out that what I'm trying to do can not be done.
