My apologies I had forgotten an ugly step that may take me outside the
"supported use case". Basically when adding the account I made the domain
name unique and then when it failed to connect I went in and modified the
account by correcting the domain name. Two points. 1) This "workaround"
appears to work until you restart, 2) Other co-workers have indicated that
an older version (ie 2.3.1) of Pidgin doesn't have this same problem.
Also I want to add that I think this should be supported. My use case is
that my company is migrating from one IM system to another. I will have
contacts on both for quite some time. Is this intentionally being
removed? Finally to actually answer your question I'm definitely using
Pidgin 2.4.1. What other common applications would use libpurple?
Thanks!
