 I recently updated from 2.2.2 to 2.4.3 and encountered this.  Any time I
 type in the buddy list a little window on the bottom pops up, showing the
 first character I typed, then no other keyboard action has any effect for
 about 5-10 seconds until it goes away.  I know before I used to be able to
 type part of a buddy's name to get to their im address quickly.  Trying to
 click the little window that pops up and type in it directly has no
 effect.  I ran into this at some point with an earlier upgrade (2.3.?)
 which kept me staying on 2.2.2 before, but I hope by asking someone might
 have a solution for me this time.  Help?
