 It seems you have 'messenger[at]microsoft.com' in the Block list of your
 Address Book, which it doesn't like adding to the Contact List. I'm not
 sure what those mean. Perhaps they're for "Block message from contacts not
 on my list"?

 Can you see if you have that address in your Hotmail address book? Or if
 changing privacy settings changes things? You may have to do that on the
 official client.
