Comment:

 I wanted to wait to reopen until I was sure we had a real issue. Seeing as
 how it looks like we might I am now re-opening.

 Can both of you make sure you are using the most up-to-date libxml2
 package that RHEL provides. In the past RHEL4 had a broken libxml2 package
 that caused message parsing errors in pidgin and while this doesn't look
 like the same error it definitely looks like a libxml2 problem and that
 debug log is not quite what I see here.
