Comment(by deryni):
The ability to view and modify multiple account details at the same time
is useful (to compare account details for starters) and should not under
any circumstances be disallowed.
The ability to have multiple add account dialogs open at the same time is
less useful, though can still have uses. Imagine the case where you need
to add three or four accounts in a row, it will be much easier (and likely
quicker) to click Add three or four times and then fill in the dialogs
(using only the keyboard) sequentially. I will readily grant that this
requires a capable reasonable window manager and is likely an extremely
unlikely occurance but it is reasonable and deserves to be kept in mind.
I very much dislike the idea of the Add Account dialog being modal for the
Accounts window. I have quite often opened the Add dialog, closed the
Accounts window, and then filled in the new account information.
Preventing that sort of thing serves no useful purpose and the Add dialog
has absolutely no modal bearing on the rest of the functionality of the
Accounts dialog.
I would also hesitate to assert that window managers are always going to
get the modal child ordering correct (though as indicated they really
should).
I also fail to see the scenario in which a user accidentally clicks the
Add button numerous times since by-and-large most users (I imagine) will
click the Add button and then directly fill in the dialog and Save the
account.
