 This still happens on 2.5.0, although it's kind of flaky to reproduce
 because it only happens with certain buddies and I can't figure out why.

 For the record, here's what happens:

 1) I know my buddy formats his screenname as "Cool Guy 123" using AIM
 (i.e. that's what he sees, and that's what the official AIM client shows).
 He is currently offline.[[BR]]
 2) I remove my buddy from my list completely.[[BR]]
 3) I add "Cool Guy 123" to my buddy list.[[BR]]

 Result: his screenname appears as "coolguy123" in the buddy list, and when
 I hover over his name, it correctly says "Cool Guy 123" but says Nickname:
 coolguy123 even though I never set a nickname or alias. blist.xml
 correctly stores it as Cool Guy 123 with no alias.[[BR]]

 With certain buddies, when they come online the name displayed will revert
 to the correctly formatted version. With other buddies it stays
 unformatted whether or not they're online.

 I also tried deleting and re-adding the buddy through the official AIM
 client. AIM shows me the formatting exactly as I entered it, with caps and
 spaces, but Pidgin removes that formatting as described above. I checked
 whether I had set a server-side alias but it doesn't appear in AIM, so I
 don't think that's the problem.
