 You could alternatively use split DNS to resolve to internal/external IP
 address as necessary, or external users could use hosts file entries to
 point the internal FQDN to the external/mapped IP address.
 You will likely have problems with other xmpp clients that support SASL
 authentication too. This is not something Pidgin *can* fix without losing
 the ability to use SASL authentication.
