 2 of my QQ contacts are always offline according to Pidgin but I know for
 a fact that they aren't because;
 * I sign in using the original QQ app (English version or Chinese) and
 they are online
 * they aren't blocking me
 * they are not invisible
 * in Pidgin there is no setting to hide particular users (from being
 displayed) when they are online

 Notes;
 1. I can receive messages from them just as if they were invisible
 2. If I disable all plugins and restart the client it makes no difference
 3. Reinstallation also fails to make a difference
 4. Tried re-adding 1 problematic contact to no avail
 5. Other QQ contacts (2 of them) come/go on/offline as normal

 Using WinXP Pro SP2 and problem has arisen in 2.3.x and persists in 2.4.0
