 as of 2.3.0, pidgin used to find buddies as i type in buddy list. 2.4.0
 doesnt seem to do this. It finds the first name that matches the first
 character i type in only. if i have 5 contacts whose aliases begin with
 'R', and i type their alias, it used to find the contact earlier, now it
 only finds the first 'R' contact. please let me know if you need more
 info.
