 AIM allows screen names/email addresses with periods/full-stops in them,
 but Pidgin doesn't.

 If I try to add such a screen name e.g. ab.cde at aol.com, Pidgin reports
 "Invalid Screen Name",

 If I try to add it as ab.cde using AIM, I am told that "Screen names must
 be a valid email address, or start with a letter and contain only letters
 numbers and spaces, or contain only numbers"

 Not sure if I should have put this as a Enhancement instead, but it seems
 like a bug to me.
