 I have a somewhat similar issue with the text field being only a few
 pixels high, jumping up to two lines any time I type, and after hitting
 enter it drops back down to a few pixels. I've cycled the formatting
 toolbar and hiding of new IM windows (both currently off) and have
 disabled all plugins, yet the problem persists.
