 Yes, that's mostly what happens to me.  If I have multiple tabs open, it
 will close my active one at random.  If I only have 1 conversation going,
 it will close the window.

 Go re-enable the "Close IMs immediately when the tab is closed" option and
 the problem goes away.  It's at least a workaround for now.
