Comment:

 I am aware of these formatting shortcuts.  The formatting does not show
 up, however, on the receiving end.  I was just wondering if Pidgin could
 discern text in double asterisks on the Gtalk protocol and make the
 enclosed text boldface automatically, as the official Gtalk client does.
