 2.3.1 appears to work fine, and I get the following in c2s.log when I log
 in successfully:

 Fri Mar 14 09:39:51 2008 [notice] [8] SASL authentication succeeded:
 mechanism=DIGEST-MD5; authzid=marty at domain.com, TLS negotiated
 Fri Mar 14 09:39:51 2008 [notice] [8] bound: jid=marty at domain.com/GAIM


 With 2.4.0, this appears to be broken.  The following appears in the log
 for login attempts which should succeed, but don't.

 Fri Mar 14 09:38:15 2008 [notice] [8] [199.243.238.74, port=1588] connect
 Fri Mar 14 09:38:16 2008 [notice] [8] [199.243.238.74, port=1588]
 disconnect jid=unbound, packets: 0
