Comment:

 Reproduced this crash as follows:

 # Added a new account called "runfrom", no password signed on
 # At the enter password dialog, entered "test" then clicked ok

 On Pidgin 2.3.1, error is: Protocol error, code 260: The password provided
 is incorrect, and there is no crash. 2.4.0 crashes, segmentation fault in
 strlen(), after receiving the fatal 260 error. Good find.
