 I agree with you.  Falling back is not "the right way" when a failure
 occurs.

 I don't think JBother supports DIGEST, but I thought I'd mention it here
 so that another eager bug-smasher doesn't "JBother" checking for
 themselves...

 I actually haven't pulled the pidgin tree down to my machine...  maybe
 I'll make my first foray into Pidgin/cyrus.
