 Having buddy pounces optionally use libnotify for notifications would be
 fine, but depending on that would break a feature that used to work if
 people build without it. That being said buddy pounce dialogs are long-
 lived while libnotify notifications are transient (as far as I know
 anyway) so they really aren't an accurate replacement. Using buddy pounce
 dialogs for transient notifications of things isn't what there were
 designed for, use the pidgin-libnotify plugin or the guifications plugin
 for that stuff.
