Comment:

 This backtrace doesn't have any debug symbols, so it really isn't all that
 helpful.  Try installing libpurple0-dbg (if such a package exists),
 pidgin-dbg, and possibly libglib2.0-0-dbg; if you can reproduce the crash
 with these packages installed the backtrace should be much more helpful.
