 Er, you should know that Pidgin already fails (horribly) at updating
 server-side information when a buddy is added/moved/removed.  I have two
 installs of Pidgin, and each and every time I use the second one, I have
 to clean up the buddy lists for both.  So at this point there's no reason
 not to have subgroups install-specific.
