Comment:

 If other clients also have odd errors for your account on that server that
 supports my assertion that it is the server that is the problem. As such I
 renew my suggestion that you contact the admin for that server. There is
 nothing pidgin can do when the server refuses to send us the roster and
 kicks you off for trying to join a muc room.
