 which seems to work OK with MSN.

 malu: Do you think that's going to work on XMPP with your patch? If the
 overhead bandwidth is not huge (I suspect it isn't), it's probably OK to
 send out the stuff even if the buddy doesn't see them; I don't really
 know.
