 The _auto_parent function, while I am sure it helps on your device, causes
 no end of annoyance for people on Windows (and probably in Gnome and KDE)
 where the window placement policies involved in placing parented dialogs
 is brain-damaged. Often leading to windows that are partially off-screen
 (including the title bar, which leads people to think they cannot be
 moved).
