 DNS is a core component of any network--without DNS you can't translate
 any name into a correct address that can be connected.

 If you run 'nslookup scs.msg.yahoo.com' (or 'host scs.msg.yahoo.com if you
 don't have nslookup), do you get a response, or a similar error message?
 I'll bet either you get an error message or a LONG wait before you get a
 response.
