 I have also been having the problem for 3 days now.  The flushdns trick
 seems to work only randomly.  This behavior is occurring on both machines
 I have setup (WinXP) and I have heard others I know who use Pidgin mention
 it.  I have both 2.5.2 and 2.5.5 running and it occurs on both versions.
