 In the original client as well as in Kadu (http://kadu.net/) to create a
 chat you select the contacts from the buddy list (ctrl+lmb) or select the
 name of a group of contacts and instead of sending regular IM you enter a
 chat. There even is no way to name such chat. Message history names it
 with a list of "screen names" (numbers) or names assigned to them.

 I'm no programmer, but as far as I can tell only the contacts
 participating in chat "define" the chat and that's why I think that the
 error I mentioned should never actually happen on GG protocol.

 "Bookmarking" a chat here should just save a list of people in it and open
 a new chat with them when joined.

 Anyway thanks for the attention. I'm happy to provide any additional info
 if necessary.
